Welcome to the first ever entry to… “Steve’s Blog!”
Sigh*
I don’t know, I’ll think of a better name for it later. If you couldn’t tell from the title, I’ve been resistant to starting a blog for a long time. I just haven’t ever cared to write about anything other than my stories.
However, if you go online and research how to be a successful self-published author, one of the most common pieces of advice you’ll find is to write a blog. And for good reason. It’s good advice. I’m not arguing with it, just saying I’ve been bad at following it.
But no longer! Behold! For this is the Blog that will sell a thousand books!
Announcements
I am so happy to announce that the Kickstarter for The Sound of Change, book 2 in the Bards and Dragons Saga, will be starting on March 1, 2025 and will run for the entire month.
I will be providing daily updates across my social media platforms, so follow me on your favorite!
Writing Updates
I am taking a much-needed break from writing anything story related or in prose for a while. Just like with your physical muscles, you need to let your creative muscles rest. Both on a micro level (throughout your day) and on a macro level (potentially weeks at a time)
Life Updates
Honestly, nothing much. So here is a picture of Simba and Winston!

Good Stories
One book that I would recommend to everyone is The Courage to be Disliked by Fumitake Koga and Ichiro Kishimi. The tagline is How to Free Yourself, Change your Life and Achieve Real Happiness, and I could not agree more. Totally worth it.
Current D&D Campaign
I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons every week since 2018 with a group of close friends, and together, we’ve created an entirely unique fictional world for our campaigns. We’ve created a bunch of world history, lore, and mytholgy for this world, known as Meridan.
The same guy who drew my map of Teo for The Way of Renegades created an entire world map for Meridan, and it is so massive, so epically detailed, that it rivals a lot of the most famous fantasy maps out there.
I get a LOT of inspiration from these D&D sessions, like cool character features and motivations, plot ideas, and probably most notably, names. (There are several characters and locations in Meridan that share a name with something in my world. so it’s kind of like an alternate universe).
(mandatory self-plug)
Ok. That’s all for now. I hope your thirst is slaked. Until next time,
